“It’ll be three years before I finish medical school. Even then there won’t be any diamond sunbursts or marble halls.”

Gilbert Blythe

Gilbert made his iconic entrance to the world of Green Gables by teasing Anne with the nickname ‘Carrots’ teasing her about her orange-coloured hair. Anne and Gilbert have a tension-filled relationship through their school years but eventually Anne gives into her feelings for Gilbert and marries him. Gilbert also goes on to become a doctor and fights on the battlefields of France during the first Great War.
