Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Halloween may be over, but roasted pumpkin seeds are a delicious snack to enjoy year-round!

After you're finished carving your pumpkin, enjoy this simple recipe for pumpkin seeds. You can flavour the seeds however you wish. Make them sweet with cinnamon and sugar or savoury with paprika and BBQ seasoning.

Ingredients

  • 1 pumpkin for seeds
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • sprinkle of salt
  • sprinkle of seasoning - BBQ, steak, or Italian all work

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  2. Seed a pumpkin.
  3. Clean the seeds by rinsing the seeds in colander under cold water. Try to remove any access pulp.
  4. Next you want to dry the seeds. Shake the colander to remove excess water and spread the seeds on a baking sheet.
  5. Roast for 30 minutes.
  6. Take the seeds out of the oven and add oil, salt and seasoning. Mix together so all the seeds are coated.
  7. Put the seeds back in the oven until they are golden brown. This should take about 20 minutes.
  8. Let cool and enjoy!
