Ingredients
- 8 apples
- 8 chopsticks
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Boil apples in a large pot on the stovetop to get rid of the wax. The apples only need to boil for a few seconds.
- Dry with paper towels and let cool. Insert chopsticks into the top of the apples.
- In a large saucepan, mix together the corn syrup, butter, sugar and milk over medium high heat. Bring to boil, stirring constantly until 245F on a candy thermometer.
- Remove caramel from heat. stir in vanilla.
- Quickly dip and twist each apple in the mixture until covered, place on lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with desired toppings while caramel is still hot.
- Let apple cool completely.
