Have you ever wondered how to determine a winning TV moment? Well, Previously.tv puts it to a vote and lets the people decide! This website was created by the same people who created Television Without Pity, and it offers a variety of articles and criticisms for TV show enthusiasts.

The feature “King of Disparate TV Things Mountain” is “the never ending battle of all the little things that make TV great.” In other words, it’s a daily matchup that takes two random TV moments and pits them against each other. This week, a moment from Anne of Green Gables has been winning for the past five days! It has won out against Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Torchwood, How I Met Your Mother, BoJack Horseman and The Twilight Zone.

Wondering what this special moment is? Well, here comes a major spoiler alert (although if you’re reading this it’s highly unlikely that you haven’t already watched the series). It’s what Previously.tv dubs “Green Gables meets the pearly gates,” which is, to put it lightly, Matthew Cuthbert’s death.

When Matthew Dies

Each moment is given a little description as to why this particular moment should win out. The one for this scene reads:

Get your Kleenex, puff up your sleeves and pour the cordial for the one true Matthew Cuthbert and Anne Shirley. The most tender moment in the series, here departs the first kindness and love that Anne has ever known. This is all I can write; I can’t see my keyboard through the tears. This is a rough one, ladies and gents, but worthy of your vote. — SUSIE DERKINS

If that doesn’t make you vote for Anne, I don’t know what will! Keep the Anne momentum going by voting here: http://previously.tv/features/king-of-disparate-tv-things-mountain/
